How did you first encounter JACQUES, and what drew you to the brand?

I first came across JACQUES by chance. I work out at the same gym as Gregg, and I kept noticing him wearing these sleek, perfectly fitted shorts. I’m particular about shorts because I have a bit of a skinny leg complex, and these just stood out to me for their simplicity and style. One day, I finally approached him and asked where he got them. He told me about his brand, and soon after, I visited his showroom, which was his apartment at the time, picked up a few pairs and have since become a loyal client.

Fashion production moves at a frenetic pace. How do you find stillness and peace within the chaos, both in your work and personal life?

Ironically, one of the places where I find the most stillness is on an airplane. It forces me to disconnect, and when I'm up in the air, I don't connect to the Wi-Fi. I’ll often find myself staring out the window or just looking at the ceiling for long stretches of time. It's a rare moment of calm that allows me to reset and tap into new ideas. If I had to find a similar moment on land, I’d say gardening. There’s something meditative and grounding about it, and it’s another way I can step out of the chaos and connect with my surroundings. There’s a whole world down there.

Do you have any morning or evening rituals that serve as anchors in your day – moments that keep you balanced and connected to yourself?

My morning walk to the gym is one of those rituals. It’s a chance for me to wake up and connect with the city. There’s no better time to experience New York than early in the morning, right before it fully comes to life. It's peaceful yet filled with a certain energy as the city gears up for the day ahead. I really treasure that moment of calm before the storm.

Do you see a connection between movement—whether working on a job, playing tennis, or any other physical activity—and your creative process?

Absolutely. Just like how the stillness on a plane helps me think clearly, I find that movement, especially when I’m stuck or distracted, helps me regain focus. Whether it’s taking a walk around the office or during a call, getting up and moving around allows me to shift my perspective. It helps clear my head and opens up space for new thoughts, which is crucial for staying connected and grounded, especially since I tend to get distracted easily.

This new collection is entirely made in New York and designed for New Yorkers. In your opinion, what does it mean to be a New Yorker? How does this city shape your creative process, and how do you stay grounded in the midst of its demands?

I’ve been living in New York for 13 years, and it truly is a place like no other. While I love traveling and exploring new places, there’s something about coming back here that feels irreplaceable. New York is like a complicated relationship—you have to learn how to navigate it. At times, it can feel overwhelming and heavy, but at other times, it’s light, fun, and incredibly uplifting. It’s all about how you approach it and learning to embrace its full potential.

The city also offers immense creative freedom. One day, you might wake up and decide you want to learn how to tap dance–and there you go, you can do it. That’s one of the beauties of being here—the freedom to explore and experiment with whatever sparks your interest.

How have your Argentinian roots played a role in how you live and work?

On a personal level, my Argentinian roots help keep me grounded. My upbringing and education taught me to value good relationships with others. I’ve always been taught the importance of being on good terms with people and practicing gratitude. These principles play a huge role in maintaining a healthy and happy life, both personally and professionally.

You travel often. What is one of the most influential or inspiring trips you’ve taken?

It’s tough to pick just one, but the trips that have impacted me the most are the ones where I connect with a culture that’s visually and socially so different from my own. India and Japan are two countries that have had a profound impact on me. Experiencing a completely new visual landscape and learning about how people live and behave there is incredibly humbling. Cultural behavior fascinates me—it’s a good reminder that the way we live isn’t the only or “right” way to live, and it’s always valuable to broaden one’s perspective.

In what ways do art and architecture influence your creative process?

Art and architecture are fundamental influences on my creativity. They shape the way I approach design by offering rich sources of inspiration—colors, textures, shapes, and ideas that span across time. I find that connecting with different forms of art and architecture, particularly during my travels, helps spark new creative directions. It’s a continuous process of learning and drawing inspiration from the world around me.
